Affectionately called “Remi” by the Papa SBJ Oshoffa, Apostle Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola held the distinguished honor of being the only singer to be anointed as an “Apostle” during his lifetime. Pastor SBJ Oshoffa, of blessed memory, would annually request Apostle Remi’s presence to minister through music during the Celestial Church of Christ’s annual harvest celebrations.

Apostle Remi’s unique musical style, deeply rooted in traditional Yoruba culture and infused with divine inspiration, earned him iconic status among his peers. His profound interpretations of Yoruba lyrics added depth and richness to his music, leaving an indelible mark on the world of gospel music.

Through iconic tracks like “Aye yi ma dara pupo,” which poignantly depicts God’s intentional creation of a beautiful world, only to be marred by humanity’s actions, and the ironic single “Osa mare omuwe, omuwe jeka gbadun omi o,” which invites people of discerning hearts to join him in celebrating the boundless wonders of God’s creation, Apostle Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola left an indelible mark on the world.

His passing leaves a void in the music world, and unfortunately, no one within the Celestial Church of Christ has yet emerged to carry the torch of his bold, courageous, and vocal preaching through music.
