Apostle Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola’s journey with the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) began in the early 1970s when he attended a Needy Service at CCC Army Barracks Road, Mokola, Ibadan. With a sparse attendance that morning, he was given the opportunity to play the “Agbamole” drums, marking the start of his involvement with the CCC Choir and Music Ministry. Although he had initially planned to travel abroad, but God had other plans. Instead, he was introduced to the Pastor Founder – Rev. SBJ Oshoffa, who commissioned him for Music Ministry in CCC Worldwide. In 1972, a church member, Sister Iyabo Ogunoye, informed the choir about a Cantata program at Yemetu. Inspired by the Lord, Remi Olabamiji exclaimed, “Awa naa le se e,” which marked the beginning of the annual Cantata service held every second Saturday in May.

- Papa SBJ Oshoffa – He ordained Remi Olabamiji the only Music Apostle in CCC Worldwide
Apostle Remi Olabamiji played a pivotal role in popularizing the Cantata service in CCC Worldwide. His unique voice, song progression, inspirational lyrics, and stage presence endeared him to the Pastor Founder, Rev. SBJ Oshoffa. As a result, Papa Oshoffa often requested his presence at various occasions. The Oshoffa family’s affection for Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola extended beyond his association with the Pastor Founder. To this day, the Oshoffa dynasty regards him as a member of their family. In 1973, while attending a harvest celebration at CCC Owo Parish 1 in Ondo State, the choir defied the town’s Igogo festival restrictions, which prohibited singing, drumming, and dancing. Despite this, they celebrated the harvest in grand style without any disturbances. During this celebration, Woli Ogundimu delivered a prophecy that Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola would be involved in a serious accident. This prophecy was fulfilled in October 1973 when God delivered him from an accident that would have him of his life on the road from Orita Aperin to Elekuro in Ibadan. His leg bones were severely impacted, leaving him with occasional pain in his leg for so long a time. Papa SBJ Oshoffa was deeply disturbed by the accident and paid all of Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola’s hospital bills. On several occasions, Papa Oshoffa demonstrated his love and appreciation for him. One notable instance was when Papa Oshoffa gave him a paper note as a token of appreciation for his music ministry, instructing him to keep the note safe and never allow other notes to touch it, symbolically blessing him eternally.

On July 1, 1976, Papa Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa summoned Aderemi Olabamiji Agboola to meet him at Sagamu. During their meeting, Papa Oshoffa decreed, “MO FUN O LASE LATI LO MA LO EBUN RE NI CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST LAGBAYE LATI ONI LO ATI TITI LAILAI,” proclaiming him an Apostle of Music in CCC Worldwide. Papa Oshoffa instructed him to wear a Woli garment, specifically in blue, which Apostle Remi Olabamiji has continued to wear to this day, albeit in white, as advised by an elder. Despite his unwavering devotion to the Celestial Church of Christ, Apostle Remi Olabamiji has expressed disappointment with the church’s current state before his departure. Nevertheless, he encourages younger generations to seek guidance from elderly church leaders. He remains grateful to influential figures like Papa SBJ Oshoffa, A.A. Bada, S.O. Ajanlekoko, and M.O. Adekanmbi for their positive impact on his life.
